Description:
Meeting the needs of adults who have sustained a brain injury is accomplished within the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) program. This program may also meet the needs of those with physical or other disabilities where greater independence and self-directed services are desired. Designed to meet the short-term rehabilitation needs, or long-term service needs of those being discharged from a sub-acute brain injury setting, emphasis is on meeting individual goals. Therapy (Occupational, Physical and Speech) is available with physician authorization and Preventative Maintenance Programs are a primary focus. Daily skill areas of focus include: cognitive, vocational, planning, social, and community. Persons attending this program participate in setting their own schedules and are assisted with being accountable for meeting their own goals. Each person is encouraged to reach their maximum potential by re-learning previous skills and learning new techniques to effectively manage their lives.
