Description:

St. Vincent de Paul provides services that evaluate the needs of clients with a variety of numerous services to meet the specific client's complex requirements. In return we hope to develop and maintain a supportive relationship providing those needed services, resources and opportunities.

PROGRAMS
- Community Activated Recovery Enhancement (CARE) assists individuals to abstain from using alcohol and opioids by using the non-addictive medically assisted treatment medication called Vivitrol. CARE is an integrated system putting each individual at the center of their treatment, which empowers the individual to make better life choices.
- The St. Vincent de Paul Dental Clinic located in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin is ready to serve the public with low cost dental hygiene services. The program provides discounted dental services (sliding scale, which starts at 50% of usual and customary charges) to qualified, uninsured and under insured clients. Medicaid and Badger Care clients are accepted.

Our service area includes Sauk and Columbia counties. We have one dentist, one hygienist, and one dental assistant on staff and we are open up to four days a week to provide dental care.

- "My Neighbor in Need" is simply a group of caring individuals and volunteers from the community who wish to try and help their neighbor in need. The operational start-up costs were provided by a generous sponsorship from St. Vincent de Paul of Prairie du Sac.

- The “Caring Tree” goal is to provide food gift cards, clothing and gifts for the elderly, families and children.

Businesses, organizations, and Churches within the Sauk Prairie area erect a Holiday Tree that volunteers “decorate” with gift tags of requested and needed items. Individuals wishing to participate remove a tag from a tree, purchased the desired gift and place it back under the same holiday tree unwrapped. Volunteers pick up donated gifts weekly and transport them to a central location and Santa’s elves work to assemble gifts for needy families. Distribution of the gifts to families will be the week before Christmas.

- The purpose of the Medical Loan Closet is to provide temporary assistance to individuals in need of medical equipment when other sources are unavailable. A variety of items are offered at no cost for use during your home recovery. Due to limited equipment, use is restricted to 3 months, and clients requesting items need to reside in the Sauk Prairie or Lodi community. Call: 608-643-8905 ext. 10 or 17 if you have any questions or to check if item is available. Items for loan are bath seats, transfer benches, walkers, commodes, canes, toilet seat risers, and wheelchairs.

- THE CANCER CLOSET. This service is for any individual in need of special items such as: incontinent products, wigs, breast prosthesis and bras. Please call to set up appointment Monday – Thursday between 9am – 3pm. Call: 608-643-8905 – ext. 10

- BABY LAYETTE PROGRAM
New mothers in Sauk and Columbia counties who are in circumstances that prevent them from affording items needed for the first months of infant care are provided with a gift layette containing diapers, baby clothes, blankets, and bathing items.

In the lower half of the building is where Head Start is located. This is a federally funded program for families who are income eligible. Services are for pre-school children and for additional information call: 608-643-2788. The Sauk Prairie Community Food Pantry is also located in the lower level—they are open on the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Wednesdays of every month, as well as the 3rd Saturday.
