The Town of Mukwonago is located in southwestern Waukesha County, population 7,959. Mukwonago offers picturesque views of Vernon Marsh State Wildlife area, Mukwonago County Park, Phantom Lake, Jericho Creek, Mukwonago and Fox Rivers. The Town of Mukwonago Police Department consist of six full-time and eight part-time officers. The Department also employees one full-time clerical staff position. The Town patrols 32 square miles of area including patrols on Upper and Lower Phantom Lake.
The Town of Mukwonago has been named Third "Safest City in Wisconsin" in 2017, second in 2016 and 2015. In 2014 we were named the states fourth "Safest City".
