Description:
The house of Mercy is a short term, emergency shelter for homeless families. Staff assists the homeless in assessing their needs, obtaining appropriate referrals and services, and designing an action plan leading to more stable housing. The target population for the House of Mercy Homeless Center is homeless families and single women who have been living in North Rock County.
Family types supported:
1. Husband and wife (children)
2. Single parent and child(children)
3. Man and woman with child in common
4. Single women-not a current victim of domestic violence
5. Partners without any children or without a child in common
*Transients (less than 15 days in North Rock County) and adult males are referred to the Salvation Army, GIFTS Program or Echo. *Female victims of domestic violence (and children) are referred to the YWCA Alternatives shelter or Beloit Domestic Violence Shelter. *Homeless veteran's are referred to the Veteran"s Administration.*homeless adolescents (17 and younger) are referred to RAFT or Project 16:49.
24/7 facility but regular office hours are 7 am - 7 pm, Monday - Saturday.
