Hart Park Senior Center and the Senior Club are programs under the auspices of the Wauwatosa Recreation Department. The Hart Park Senior Center also serves as a Nutrition Site for the Milwaukee County Department on Aging.
The program provides a gathering place to decrease isolation, enhance social contacts, provides educational, recreational and cultural programming, offers nutritious mid-day meals, fosters connections between seniors and the community at-large, and provides linkages to community resources. Activities and staff focus on maintaining or increasing independence and personal growth in a safe and nurturing environment.
The Senior Meal Program provides a daily hot lunch and other activities. Lunches are fully balanced meals, including entrée, sides, dessert and beverage. Low-fat and chocolate milk and low-carb desserts are available. Volunteers help serve meals and also reach out to other older adults. Program staff provide information, outreach and referral information about other community services.
Meals are served Monday-Friday at 11:30 am; Doors open at 9:30 am; Call for reservations between 9:30 am - Noon; or register on-site one day in advance of attendance.
All participants must register (9:30am-11:15am) and receive a diners card. Once registered, participants may use their diners card to make a reservation at any Milwaukee County Senior Meal Dining Center. Reserve your meal at least one day in advance by phone or at the senior dining site before Noon. Please call 257-3534 for more details.
A suggested contribution of $3.00 per meal helps the Senior Meal Program with the cost of the meal.
