Description:
FamilyMeans understands the need to support families caring for a child or adult with a chronic illness, disability or fraility.
Respite care gives caregivers a break by providing in-home care for 4-16 hours each month. The caregiver can attend to errands, get their car fixed, go to a movie to recharge - whatever. Respite care is provided by volunteers who are trained, screened and carefully matched to the needs of the family.
Caregiver support groups teach and reinforce the need for self care and provide a forum of support from other facing similar situations. Caregiver coaching/counseling helps the caregiver find the best way to provide quality care while still maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle. The personal care coach helps families plan, problem solve, coordinate services, and cope with the daily challenges of caregiving.
