Respite Care Association of Wisconsin (RCAW) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization organized in 1987 to support and advocate for quality systems of respite care for Wisconsin families.

Our mission is to ‘promote, support, and expand quality statewide respite care across the lifespan’.

Our purpose is to:
•collaborate with respite care agencies and others interested in respite care for the purpose of sharing ideas and expertise and to provide support for each other.
•work closely with the appropriate government agencies and private agencies or groups to insure the continuation and replication of quality respite services.
•promote and support the concept of quality in the delivery of respite care.
•initiate, sponsor and promote educational programs and research.
•provide consultation and disseminate information.

We are the only statewide organization dedicated to promoting planned and crisis respite care across the lifespan. We are dedicated to promoting planned and crisis respite care across the lifespan. We offer:
-Wisconsin Lifespan Respite Training – Is a comprehensive on-line course that is designed for people who are interested in providing in-home respite care.
-Wisconsin Respite Care Registry – Is an on-line matching service for Respite Care Workers and Providers to market their in-home/facility-based care services.
-Mini Grant Program – For organizations/agencies to host activities/events that support RCAW’s goals and objectives such as the following: ?Respite Care Worker Recruitment & Training
-Family Caregiver Outreach/Education
-Respite Care Provider Recruitment/Employment Fair
-Other activities as approved by RCAW that support our mission
-Caregiver Respite Grant Program – Is for family caregivers to meet planned and/or emergency respite care and have exhausted all other options, or don’t qualify for other long term care program assistance.
-Respite Resources – Provides general caregiving resources useful to individuals providing care across the lifespan (i.e.; children adults & elderly) for a family member(s) or friend(s) with aging related care.
