The Community Outreach Program provides a special service for those people who need the opportunity to earn money, and learn personal care skills. Community integration is focused on leisure activities like bowling, swimming, movies and eating in restaurants. Each participant has a program that is designed to fit their individual needs.

The Outreach Participants are community based adults who need specialized programs to meet individual needs. They may be referred for services through a case-manager, guardian, parent or school. Funding sources can include COP( Community Options Program), CIP (Community Integration Program), county funding, DVR (Division of Vocational Rehabilitation), or Private pay.

The Program includes more than 20 different jobs in the recycling program. Staff are available to assist clients to learn work skills. Some participants volunteer at Day Care, pet stores and others have supported jobs in the community. For non-ambulatory participants, staff are trained to provide a range of motion therapy. Staff assist clients with after meal hygiene. Clients may bring a lunch or purchase a meal from the Health Care Center for $3.25. Afternoon activities are leisure in nature. Staff are available to help participants with decision making skills and work as a team for large, special activities.
