Description:
Sojourner House is an evening/night shelter for the homeless. It is located at 618 S. Barstow St. in Eau Claire, WI. It has beds for single adults - 32 men and 8 women. (Will take up to 50 maximum) (Beacon House across the street is for women and children.) The shelter is open to clients from 7:00 pm until 8:00 am. The shelter is available due to the generosity of many businesses, volunteer groups from churches and businesses and funding from Catholic Charities.
Our volunteer groups will be cooking the evening meal at home and taking it to the shelter with them. They will start at the shelter at 6:30 pm until doors are locked for the night at 9:00 pm. Duties we will be doing include: Greeter, In-take interviews, Storage Room Monitor, Laundry Patrol and Kitchen – evening meal.
